Abstract

Photograph of a newly discovered timber building and the Great Hall at Weoley Castle, Northfield, taken in 1960. Weoley Castle was built in stone following a licence in 1264. It was surrounded by a moat and a defensive wall with six turrets and was a typical fortified manor house of the medieval period in the Midlands.
