Abstract

Images of ephemera and artefacts from mass reading events. The items were collected for the AHRC-funded project ‘Beyond the Book: Mass Reading Events and Contemporary Cultures of Reading in the UK, USA and Canada’, (2005-2008, grant number: 112166).

Beyond the Book (BTB) was a trans-Atlantic collaborative interdisciplinary research project that analysed mass reading events and the contemporary meanings of reading in the UK, the USA and Canada.

The project holds supporting materials from the events such as promotional flyers, posters and guides collected from nine reading events. There is a list of all items held by the project, and photographs of selected items.

The items were produced mostly between 2001 and 2007.
