Abstract

This project is centred on the creation of a WebCT-based learning environment to support a Postgraduate Certificate in Heritage Management, to be delivered by Distance Learning and completed by students over one year. Students are likely to be in full-time employment in the heritage industry and seeking a CPD upgrade. The project establishes:
- An online tutorial system and discussion groups to support students throughout the programme
- Web-based learning resources to support the one-week Study School

The project acted as a model for other School of Historical Studies programmes, in the first instance the Ironbridge Institute will adapt its existing postgraduate programmes for Distance Learners.
